- You didn't say what version of Windows you are using. If it's Windows
- 3.1/3.11, your problem is the comm.drv that comes with Windows.

- It tends to not know when the comm port is available.

- Try adding "AT &F" to your reset string. This will reset the modem to
- the state it was in when the modem is first started (AT Z is supposed
- to do the same thing.)

- Unfortunately, this will not do anything about comm.drv if that is the
