  21. You didn't say what version of Windows you are using.  If it's Windows
  22. 3.1/3.11, your problem is the comm.drv that comes with Windows.

  24. It tends to not know when the comm port is available.

  26. Try adding "AT &F" to your reset string.  This will reset the modem to
  27. the state it was in when the modem is first started (AT Z is supposed
  28. to do the same thing.)

  30. Unfortunately, this will not do anything about comm.drv if that is the
  31. problem.
